My name ist Michael Atzwanger and I am a teacher at the University College of Education in Linz (Upper Austria); I am also involved in IT support, IT management and IT development at our university.
ICT is an integrated part of the studies at our university. Teachers and students use ICT in lessons and in their school practice. In our Institute of media-pedagogic, ICT and E-Learning we are working in several projects around the themes didactic and pedagogic with media.

We currently use...

a set of 15 ipads + special equipment (WLAN router, AppleTV,...) in  various fields of application. This set is used in classrooms - pupils in primary school up to studends in secondary school or in our university  - groupsizes vary from 10 to 35 students.

What would you like to achieve from the CCL project?

Comunication with partners who are also interested in using tablets/mobile devices in their classrooms, focussing the knowledge exchange.

What would you think will be your biggest challenge?

To create added value by using tablets/mobile devices will be a big challenge as well as to envolve and inspire colleagues (in all different kinds of schools).

Introduce your school and your role
My name is Virginija Bireniene. I'm CCL Lithuanian lead teacher and Physics expert teacher at Simon Dach pro-gymnasium (i.e., lower secondary school) in Klaipeda, Lithuania. My school has its own ICT implementation strategy where a wide and diverse application of ICT across the curriculum is envisaged. Technology is integrated into a variety of subjects and non-formal education since 2005. Our school is active in EU-funded projects such as eTwinning, iTEC, and LSL (Lithuanian AS1 school).

Describe the kit you are using and the age group of students and how many?
In CCL project, I will work with 13 years old students of the 7th grade. There are 30 students in my classroom. I'm planning to use iPads during the pilots. Currently, we are using different tablet devices brought by students themselves.

What would you like to achieve from the CCL project?
We are planning that students' motivation to learn will increase since in CCL we'll use up-to-date devices. We'll also planning to pilot several innovative learning scenarios using tablets. We hope these scenarios will improve our students' learning results since we'll use sound pedagogical methods: personalisation, flipped classroom, and problem-based learning. 

What do you think will be your biggest challenge? 
We think the biggest challenge is implementation of innovative pedagogical practices into curriculum since it could require noncompliance with required learning topics, plans, and timetables. This could cause school officials' opposition. Another challenge is a legal problem concerning possibility to learners to bring school's tablets outside the school while implementing scenarios.
