Linked with the webinars organised for the project teachers, this blog will display teachers thoughts, plans, ideas and experience with tablets in classroom. After each webinar, the teachers will write a reflective post on the given topic. Along the course of the project, this blog will provide an interesting insight into day to day teaching with tablets.

1.     What did you find most challenging during the CCL project? 

  • The start with a set of iPads was challenging since there was no or only very little previous experience of how to use such things in the classroom.
  • We also had to gain experience regarding how to technically manage the iPads.

2.     What was the biggest benefit of participating in the CCL project?

  • Exchange with other teachers and schools who are also using tablet PCs.
  • The association of European schools gave a great overview. Many (useful) ideas could have been drawn from the meetings and postings.

3. What have you been able to achieve? What are you most proud of?

  • We have been able to gain confidence that tablet PCs are an excellent medium to enrich teaching and to get students more active in class.
  • Our project at the university now includes 3 sets of tablet PCs – 2 sets of iPads and one set of android-based tablet PCs.
  • Many (new) contacts, possibilities for networking and exchange with schools in the area.

4. How will you take the work forward? How will you disseminate your work to others?

  • We will continue to share our experiences made in (future) training courses.
  • We support schools/teachers in project preparation and implementation of tablet PCs.
  • We have started to accompany a project with scientific research. The research results are to be published.

5.  2 Top Tips for other teachers 

  •  1. If you intend to start a tablet class/project/… in your class/school/,…  take enough time for comprehensive and broad planning
  • 2. Take the chance to inform, if possible involve the parents of your students in a tablet project
