Teachers' Blog Teachers' Blog

Linked with the webinars organised for the project teachers, this blog will display teachers thoughts, plans, ideas and experience with tablets in classroom. After each webinar, the teachers will write a reflective post on the given topic. Along the course of the project, this blog will provide an interesting insight into day to day teaching with tablets.

Kaisiadorys Algirdas Brazauskas Gymnasium, Lithuania

My name is Ingrida Kupciuniene, I’m a Informatics teacher and a leader of a team that will be engaged in the CCL project at Kaisiadorys Algirdas Brazauskas gymnasium ( ), Lithuania. Our gymnasium is located in the town Kaisiadorys not far from the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius (70km).
In our school there are 58 teachers and 562 students from the 9th to the 12th grade. We are planning to use BYOD (different devices brought by students themselves) in the 9th class consisting of 12 students.

We are currently …

We have 4 computer labs with 72 PCs and one class equipped with Apple MAC. Every classroom has a PC (LAN, the Internet) and beamers. Last year we tried iPad and created movies for the anniversary of the Gymnasium and the Safe Internet day.

What would I like to achieve from the CCL project?

We would like to develop relationships with partners who are also interested in using BYOD devices in their classrooms and try to apply scenarios using pedagogical methods: personalisation, flipped classroom, and problem-based learning.

What do you think will be your biggest challenge?
Make education more interesting for teachers and students. We want to use BYOD in our lessons in an effective way. I think that it will be a big challenge to use different devices and software Android, iOS.

Identify 2 key questions at this stage that you are asking in school about the use of tablets within 1:1 learning.

How to apply specific educational software to apps and use them in the learning process?
Will BYOD improve the students’ results in most subjects?
