Teachers' Blog Teachers' Blog

Linked with the webinars organised for the project teachers, this blog will display teachers thoughts, plans, ideas and experience with tablets in classroom. After each webinar, the teachers will write a reflective post on the given topic. Along the course of the project, this blog will provide an interesting insight into day to day teaching with tablets.

Content creation

 1. I am going to use the learning scenario to…

  • Let the students create content and to create content myself.

2. Describe a little about one lesson you have taught so far using the tablets…

  • The children created a talking comic book.
  • First they had to make a storyboard on paper. Then they took pictures according to their story.
  • These pictures where inserted into Comic Life and then exported to the camera roll.
  • After this they worked in Book Creator by inserting the comic book pages. On top of the speechbubbles we recorded sound.
  • Next step is to make the recordings invisible in iBooks.
  • Additionally I collected all the stories on one iPad to make one great book.

3. My three top tips for the teacher using tablets in the classroom are:

  • Keep it simple.
  • Mix media.
  • Know your basics.

4. The two most useful apps that I have tried in my classroom so far…

Explain Everything and Book Creator

5. Two useful apps that students recommend…

  • MadPad, Morfo

6. Two goals for teaching and learning in the next 8 weeks are:

  • Exploring augmented reality for combining old and new media.
  • Linking the scenario to local goals (ICT-eindtermen)
